Happy Birthday Daddy!
My dad's birthday card. I had a lot of trouble with the sentiment and I'm not 100% happy with it but oh well, my daddy will like it. Name blurred to protect the innocent ;-)

Anniversary Card - has this ever happened to you?
*Sigh*
I spent 3 hours making this card. I put it in my daughters diaper bag to go with her to my in-laws house for the day just like every Thursday. Well, somewhere between our house and their house it was LOST. Can you believe it? My husband saw it in the bag but doesn't remember if it was in there when he dropped off the kid. So, they never got it. I am really upset because A) Hello... 3 HOURS I spent on it! and B) It had a wallet size professional picture of my kid in it, those things ain't cheap people! and C) I used a super fancy brad on the envelope that I know MIL would have liked and re-used :(
BOO.

Fall Wreath
Finally got my fall wreath put together! I was so embarrassed because my spring one has been up since March. Oops!
Flowers, gourds, organza (hard to see in the picture but it is flowing around behind the wreath and the middle gourd) are all from JoAnns - everything was 50% last week. Flowers are stuck into a foam wreath and I made a hanging hook out of wire that I had on hand.
Gourds are attached with hot glue.

Get Well Card
My pawpaw has been in the hospital this past week and is still not home.
Get well soon Pawpaw!
This card was made 100% from scraps which is one of my favorite things to do! I guess I did not take a picture but I used the same paper as the green on the tree to cut out Get Well Soon for the inside of the card. And then of course I had to tuck 2 pictures of his great-grandaughter inside :-)

Stationary Set
My mom and I made this for her friend as a gift. I hope she likes it!
We used Granite paper for the gray, nice linen resume paper for the white. Brads from Hobby Lobby and paper from Hobby Lobby to make the flowers (Forever Young cartidge) We bought pre-made envies and embellished them with the flower and her monogram.
Some pages only have the monogram so that they can be used as "second sheets" if her letter gets lengthy. We packaged it all together in a white photo storage box that we embellished on the top with her monogram and some ribbon.

Happy Halloween.. and Fall! Double Sided Pumpkin
I wanted to do a monogram pumpkin so I whipped out the Cricut and got busy. This is a "funkin" from Hobby Lobby that I got for 50% last week. It is really light weight and even carvable! I would love to get another and carve it really nice to use year after year.
I used black paper and Onyx Martha Stewart glitter for the black parts, yellow paper and gold flake glitter for the orange parts. 99 cent ribbon from Hobby Lobby for stem, Mod Podge is holding everything on the pumpkin.
Oh but WAIT - I am far too cheap to mess with a pumpkin that I can only use for a month, hehe. So, on the other side of the pumpkin I used some fun fall paper and a nifty fabric covered brad and mod podged a little fall love on there.
*sigh* I love fall.

My first commissioned card! Wedding Card
Boy, was I nervous when a coworker asked me to make a card for an upcoming wedding she was attending on 10-10-10! It is intimidating to make a card for someone else to give away.
She told me to make it kind of modern and that their colors were silver and pink and to try and incorporate the wedding day into it because they got a kick out of the 10-10-10 thing. I also knew that the last name started with a P.
I was also very excited to make an envelope! Not pictured is a little sticker I made for her to seal the envelope when she is ready. It is the same swirl design as is on the front of the card.
So, here is the result:
Cartridge : Tie the Knot and Old West (for the est. 10 10 10 portion)
Gorgeous paper is from a little specialty scrap store and I cannot remember the brand name, sorry! The silver swirl and pink came from JoAnns.

Another Cricut Free Project - Art Clothesline
Well, I sold my Cricut *tear*
BUT... I only sold it to make room for a bigger one! Yay!
So right now I am cricut-less and therefore doing projects that have been sitting around forever. I have had the stuff to do this for at least 6 months and it took like 15 minutes, doh!
Amelia is in daycare/preschool and therefore brings home tons of "art" and I feel bad immediately throwing it away. So, I made this for her playroom wall so that we can enjoy project before they ahem, get recycled.
Two felt flowers I just quickly handcut and attached together using a button and thread. Screwed a screw into the wall halfway, wrapped the wire around it and screwed it rest of the way in. Hot glued the flowers onto the screw. Attached art.
Ohhh and Ahhh over the artwork that poot is so proud of.

My Mantle - Before and After with letters and Modge Podge aka Gift from Heaven
Our fireplace mantle was in serious need of a declutter/makeover. It has looked like this for 3 years....ok fine more like 5 years, but I know that picture of me and the dolphin was 3 years ago so HA!
Anyway - I bought these chipboard letters about 5 months ago when they went on sale at Hobby Lobby. My cricut is put up for a few days while I try to get my craft area set up so I decided to pull out one of my long overdue non-cricut projects.
This was so easy! All I did was pick up one my favorite paper stack from my stash (Poteeka Souffle by The Paper Studio) that would coordinate best with my living room and picked out my six papers and went to work!
I cut the basic shape of the letter, leaving plenty of room to wrap around the edges. Then I used modge podge on the entire front of the letter, slapped my paper on and started wrapping it around the letter, cutting the paper if need be to get a flat wrap.
I would like to add a few more embellishments to the letters but for now they work and I am thrilled to have something crossed off the project list. I of course want to update the rest of the mantle so I might do something for fall/winter instead of just leaving it as is like I normally do. Baby steps people!
Which letter is your favorite? I like the "L" - you can't tell in the picture but these papers have a wonderful, thread like texture to them.

Birthday Card
Ok this card has some major mess ups but I know my pawpaw will love it anyway!
He turned 83 this week! He has gone through so much health-wise over the last 2 years and he loves westerns/rodeo so I felt this was the perfect sentiment for him.
The glue seeped through the fur-feel paper and messed up the horses eye and some spots on his leg. I own my boo-boos. I simply ran out of time to fix it.
I am noticing a pattern with all my cards - I have zero time to do a thorough job on them, they are all rush rush rushed and you can tell by looking :-(

Witchy Woman
First Halloween project of the year! I might keep this card for myself for those times I feel particularly...um...witchy. But if I do decide to give it to someone I made a frame for the inside to write my message in. Totally digging the purple and orange.

Purple, Orange, Black and Sparkle Green paper from Hobby Lobby
Small silver bling bling on the shoe from Lord knows where :)

It's PAWTY time! Goody bags!
Ok, here is what I did for the goody bags for Pooty's Puppy Theme Birthday Party. Ahem - I mean DOGGIE BAGS of course.
I made the lettering with my cricut and slapped it on with my Xyron.
This is what was in the doggie bags:
A bouncy ball, puppy tattoos, a dog collar bracelet, dog bone cookie and puppy chow!
I made the puppy chow bag toppers completely from scrap left over from making the invites and other random cards.
Then I made the dog bone cookies and just put them in simple bags with ribbon.
Awwww I love them!
The font's where done with the Hannah Montana cartridge. I hate Hannah Montana but the font is PERFECT for most of my projects ;-)

Tri-Shutter Thank You card
BIG shout out to my girl Erin Lee Creative for her tutorial on how to make these. It was a lot of fun :-)
I am using the Tri-Shutter as a thank you card, so I wanted to show how you can still write a little thank you note on this card. Pardon my chicken-scratch handwriting ;-)

Baby Card
My Baby Girl's B-day Invites! Ruff Ruff!
(The doghouse is white and the background paper is silver...the picture makes the doghouse fade away. It looks much better in real life!)
*SIGH* I really miss my little fat cheeked baby but I am in love with the awesome little girl she has become. Pooty is turning TWO and since she is obsessed with all things Doggie how appropriate to have a Doggie themed party.
First up- the invites! I made 20 and mailed out 19. The party is being held in a place with limited space so the guest list was ruthless this year. Thank goodness because 20 of these took "fur"ever.
They are single card with the info on vellum over dog bone paper on the back. In case you can't read the picture it says:
It's a birthday PAW-TY
Our little pup Amelia Jane is turning 14!
(That is two in people years)

DONE! Baby Shower Invites
Remember my sneak peek?
http://salliesweet.blogspot.com/2010/06/sneak-peek-at-what-i-am-up-to.html
Well it has turned into THIS:
30 invitations to a joint baby shower! Ahhh!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave some feedback and tell me what you think. I was told Toys and Boys theme using shades of primary colors. Oh, and I ran out of the blue ribbon and couldn't find it anywhere so I used the brown on the remaining. I actually think I like the brown better!
The information, date and time etc, is on the back on the same blue paper. Just a plain sheet attached to the back of the card. I took a picture thinking the info was blurry enough but you could read it and I am too lazy to retake the pics again.
I would love to hear opinions on these!
